Santos is an Australian natural gas company that has been discovering, developing and delivering natural gas to Australia and Asia for over 60 years.  Our company was established in 1954 in Adelaide, as South Australia Northern Territory Oil Search.  We have an excellent track record of developing strong and enduring relationships with communities located in and around our operations.

Our business strategy is centred on five, core long life natural gas assets.  These assets define the regions where our community investment is focused.

Cooper Basin in South Australia and South West Queensland

GLNG in Queensland

Northern Australia including Darwin LNG and acreage in the McArthur, Amadeus and Beetaloo basins in the Northern Territory

Western Australian Gas assets in Karratha and Dampier,  and

PNG LNG project in Papua New Guinea

Santos also runs a number of smaller assets in Asia, oil assets in WA and the Narrabri Project, located in New South Wales, an important future asset that is currently being assessed for development.

Santos' annual call for major community sponsorships above $10,000 is now closed and will be open again in September 2018. To apply for sponsorships under $10,000, please follow the prompts below. Sponsorships between $2000 and $10,000 will be assessed on a quarterly basis with successful applications being informed in January, April, September and December. Sponsorships under $2000 will be assessed monthly.

A fair and rigorous process will be applied to the selection of our sponsorships and community partners, based on our three guiding principles and five corporate social responsibility pillars.  We encourage you to read the selection criteria below before making your application.

If you have any queries about the application process, please email sponsorships@santos.com

Assessment Criteria

Guiding principles – Your sponsorships must align with our Guiding Principles which determine whether your proposal has a ‘strategic fit’ with the Santos brand and business.  These principles define the types of sponsorships Santos will and will not support.

CSR Pillars - Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ‘pillars’ define the key categories of sponsorships we will support.  Sponsorships must align with one or more of the pillars.  These pillars are Environment and Climate Change, Regional Communities, Training and Education, Healthy Living, and Indigenous.

Along with our guiding principles and pillars, Santos is on the lookout for two national partnerships that benefit communities in our regions of operation.  These include:

A national indigenous program that helps achieve the outcomes in the Government’s ‘Close the Gap’ report.  This program must have a strong focus on the Northern Territory and opportunities in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales.

A national partnership with primary and high school focused education program that aims to get young people interested in the oil and gas industry
